Biography
Steven T. Blackwell was born in Chevy Chase, Maryland. He received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Albright College in 1977. He graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1980.
Admitted to the Maine Bar in 1981, Mr. Blackwell served as a part-time Assistant District Attorney for Kennebec County from 1982 to 1983. For more than 20 years, Mr. Blackwell’s private practice has focused on civil litigation, with an emphasis on medical malpractice and personal injury. Mr. Blackwell has practiced in all Maine state courts and the United States District Court for the District of Maine. Mr. Blackwell has also provided assistance to clients in the fields of divorce and criminal law. He has achieved an outstanding “BV” Martindale-Hubbell rating because of his exemplary reputation, well-established practice and high professional standing.
Mr. Blackwell is a graduate of The National Institute for Trial Advocacy and is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, the Maine State Bar Association (Family Law Section), and the Penobscot County Bar Association. He is a past President of the Waterville, Maine Bar Association.
Mr. Blackwell serves on the Board of Directors of “For Kids Sake,” an organization dedicated to protecting children of divorcing parents. Mr. Blackwell resides in Bangor with his wife Ericka. They have three sons, Richard, Joel and Joshua, and a daughter, Paige.
