Sarah Littlefield - Legal Assistant
A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, with a degree in Paralegal Studies from Beal College, Sarah Littlefield has worked as a paralegal and legal assistant for 21 years. From 1987 to 2005, she worked at the Silver Law Firm in Bangor, where she gained extensive experience in many types of litigation, including medical malpractice, personal injury, employment law, products liability, civil rights, and insurance coverage issues. Sarah joined Lanham Blackwell in 2005 when Justice Warren Silver was appointed to Maine's Supreme Judicial Court and closed his law practice.
The transition to Lanham Blackwell was a natural one, since the two firms practice in many of the same areas of law. At Lanham Blackwell, Sarah primarily assists the attorneys with research and writing in complex personal injury, medical malpractice, and product liability litigation.
Sarah lives in the Bangor area with her husband who has taught physics at area schools for many years. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. Sarah enjoys reading and stays active jogging (slowly) and biking.
Jennifer Clarke - Paralegal
Jenny Clarke, a native of Brewer, Maine, has been a paralegal for more than 20 years. She worked for a prominent defense firm for many years, and before joining Lanham Blackwell in October, 2005, worked six years for Justice Warren Silver before he was appointed to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
Jenny has extensive experience in complex litigation and excels in case management and investigation. She performs all aspects of case management in many of the firm’s personal injury cases. She is involved in medical review issues in medical malpractice, medical device, and pharmaceutical cases.
Jenny and her husband, Scott, reside in Bangor where they have raised their three children. When not at the office, Jenny can be found supporting her kids in their athletic endeavors either on the basketball court or on the soccer and baseball fields.
Vickie Bedore - Paralegal
Vickie is a native of Wiscasset, Maine. She has traveled extensively with her husband, Bob, who is now retired from the United States Air Force. She received her paralegal training at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. After completing her studies in 1995, over the next eight years Vickie worked as a trial specialist at a Kansas law firm. She has assisted in difficult litigation and trial preparation in complex personal injury and medical malpractice cases in both state and federal courts in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Maine.
Since moving back to Maine with her family, Vickie’s experience as a paralegal has expanded to include pharmaceutical and medical device litigation in Maine, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. She takes great pride in working closely with clients to assure them that they are being represented at the highest professional level.
Vickie and Bob have three children, Jen, Beau and Sam, and are blessed with a large extended family.
Debra Gonsalves - Paralegal
After graduating from the American Education Institute of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with an Associate of Claims Law degree, Debra was employed by Kemper National Insurance Co. of Oak Grove, Illinois for 26 years. Debra's responsibilities at Kemper included the investigation, evaluation, and settlement of general liability, auto, homeowners and druggist liability claims. Debra served as a mediator with the American Arbitration Forums for 10 years, helping to resolve coverage disputes between insurance companies. After leaving Kemper, Debra joined the litigation unit of Safety Insurance Co. in Boston, Mass.
Debra moved to Maine in 2006 where she joined Lanham Blackwell. Debra assists the attorneys with mass tort litigation and personal injury claims.
Debra lives in Bangor where she loves to golf and engage in volunteer work.
